Which is the best CBD oil? In the flood of information, it is often difficult to distinguish between the range of products that can be found online and in shops. What the differences are, what is contained in a particular product, and even the terminology and marketing misleading can completely confuse us. In addition, the lack of knowledge in the field makes it difficult to come to the right conclusions about how a product works. In this article we hope to provide at least some information to help you understand and to illustrate how to calculate the different types of CBD oil.
Many of you have heard of cannabis and its positive effects. Or what about CBD oil or CBD hemp oil? What exactly it is, most people still don’t understand. Completely understandable, as the functioning of the endocannabionid system is a complex subject. We will briefly review what the endocannabinoid system, cannabinoids and the full spectrum are and look at a comparison of the best CBD oil worth choosing.
THE ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM
The endocannabinoid system is the body’s support system that touches almost every part of the body. It is made up of cannabinoid receptors, endocannabinoids (internal cannabinoids) and enzymes that work together to keep the processes of this system working. The receptors receive signals and are scattered throughout the body, the endocannabinoids are released into the body naturally and automatically, and the enzymes serve to break down excess endocannabinoids. The purpose of the endocannabinoid system is to maintain balance in the body. Thus, whenever an undesirable event occurs to the body, the endocannabinoid system is triggered and tries to bring the body back into balance. You can learnb more here.
What about when the body is not producing enough endocannabinoids and we want to help it? That’s where cannabis comes in, as it is a great source of a wide variety of cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids. Because cannabinoids from hemp are so similar to endocannabinoids, they can enter the body via cannabinoid receptors and other pathways, helping the endocannabinoid system to achieve balance. There are more than 144 known cannabinoids, but the most well-known and the most prevalent in cannabis are CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which will also be the main focus of this paper. More information on cannabis can be found here and on the effects of cannabis here.
Now that we have clarified what the endocannabinoid system and cannabinoids are, we need to touch on another topic called the entourage effect and the full spectrum of substances, before we look at the best CBD oil to choose.
THE ENTOURAGE EFFECT
The entourage effect is a term used to describe the synergistic action of hundreds of different substances in cannabis. This means that the components of cannabis work better when used together, as they potentiate the overall positive effect on the body. Therefore, different ratios of cannabinoids can have different effects on our bodies. CBD drops or CBD oil is the most popular, easy and useful way to consume cannabinoids. Using a dropper, we can dose the exact amount we want to consume. The name itself does not necessarily mean that they contain only CBD. There are different types of products depending on the concentration and cannabinoid content:
Hemp Seed Oil
Made from hemp seeds and does not contain cannabinoids at this level. It does, however, have other positive effects on the body
Isolate
Isolates are a very widespread form of cannabinoid use as they are very inexpensive and easy to use. On the other hand, you do not get the effect you might want. An isolate is almost 100% extraction of an isolated cannabinoid. So you can find CBD isolate (99% CBD) or THC isolate (99% THC), which usually comes in powder form and is easily mixed into the product where you want to use it.
Broad Spectrum
Cannabis extract that has had the THC completely removed. In the process, however, some of the other cannabinoids and elemets are usually removed as well, which does not bring us the full extraordinary effects of the whole plant.
Full Spectrum
The whole extract of the plant, which retains most of the cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids. This is where the synergistic effect of cannabis is most pronounced.
All of these types of cannabis preparations are also known as CBD hemp oil or CBD drops, so make sure you know what they contain before you make a purchase.
BEST CBD OIL TO CHOOSE
You’ve probably noticed that we’re advocates of the full spectrum of substances in CBD oil. Given the permitted THC level in Slovenia (0.2%) and many other countries, we have made a very illustrative calculation of why, for example, consuming 1 drop of 10% CBD oil is not the same as consuming 2 drops of 5% CBD oil.
In the graphic above we can see that with the same mg amount of CBD we receive much more THC when using only 5% CBD oil. Even though the concentration of CBD is higher with 10% and 20% CBD oil, research have shown that even slight differences in THC amounts already have a large effect on combined positive effects.
We should also add that CBD oil with a CBD content higher than 6-7% does cannot to be a whole plant extract. The oil is either processed or a CBD isolate is added to achieve these high levels.
Each individual has a specific endocannabinoid system, which may be matched by different doses and ratios of cannabinoids. Similarly, not every CBD oil is suitable for every health problem. Cannabis and its cannabinoids are not a magic potion that can cure all the ills of this world. But they are very close 😊 . We hope we’ve helped you at least a little with your dilemma about the best CBD oil for you.
